Conclusion

In conclusion, it must be duly noted that Bangladesh is still one of the poorest countries of the world. However, it has come a long way from being the "International Basket Case". Faced with insurmountable odds, the people of the nation have learned to cope with annual natural disasters. Today, Bangladesh might be poor but the people are proud of their achievement and tenacity towards success.

For a country like Bangladesh, education is the key to attain success. It is extremely difficult to educate the people when the population is as large as that of Bangladesh. The task of educating gets even harder when the people of the country suffer from hunger and health issues. BRAC and other NGO's understand the situation of Bangladesh because of their close ties with the general population and as such, they are in the best situation to help the country. Nevertheless, these organizations are receiving millions of dollars in foreign aid to carry out their operations.

The fruitful efforts of NGO's are evident as the education level of the country are higher than ever before. Moreover, for the first time, the women are encouraged to study and attain higher degrees. Educating women is a major step towards the improvement of literacy rate because they can later teach their children to read and write. Education has opened doors for the poor class and those living in villages. As such, there have been significant health improvements in the countryside and also a significant improvement in family planning.

As measures implemented by the government and NGO's increase school participation and lower dropout rates, the benefits of an educated population seems limitless.
